North Wales residents will benefit from a new and improved garden centre as P&A relaunches under a brand new look. Following the success of the new Woodworks café at P&A Garden Centre, the family run company recently announced that they will relaunch as the Woodworks ‘destination’ Garden Centre. The newly rebuilt garden centre, café and gift shop, based on Wrexham Road in Mold, is due to be opened at a special relaunch event on September 22, 23 and 24.
To mark the occasion, as well as special offers, visitors will have the chance to take away a free hessian shopping bag with a spend over £20 when shopping in the garden area and gift shop. Steve Morgan, managing director at P&A Group said: “I am so proud of what we have been able to achieve as a family company and it is a delight to be able to develop the garden centre which has proven to be so popular.
“This is yet another aspect of the strategic planned growth for the company and we are now employing 165 as a group and recently having purchased new site in Saltney, which will allow for further expansion of the Group.” Among the refurbished departments is the successful Woodworks Café, well known for its locally produced food, which will double in size to cater for the recent increase in demand. In addition to the café extension, a newly designed outdoor eating area has been added, featuring artificial grass to create a year round ‘al fresco’ outdoor dining experience. “To be able to expand the café and offer more space for more people to enjoy our locally produced food, homemade cakes and afternoon tea is great,” Steve said.
There is also a new building to house the extended home and gift shop, which was under construction when Phillip Hammond, Chancellor of The Exchequer visited the garden centre in the summer to ccongratulate them on the rapid growth of the Group. The plant area at the Garden Centre has also been redesigned and expanded, offering more choice for the gardener. The expansion of facilities has also created more room to house an area to showcase a wider range of sheds, summerhouses and garden buildings. “We are hoping that our expansion will also lead to increased recruitment as our growth brings with it further demand for new staff,” Steve added. “We’re pleased to sponsor the Flintshire Business ‘Best Business to Work For’ Award this year as part of our community support.”
There will also be a late night Christmas shopping event held at The Woodworks Garden Centre on Thursday November 30 including hot chestnuts, popcorn and mince pies, plus a special visit from Father Christmas.
